This Move REPLACED Hyper Beam
Hyper Beam was introduced in generation 1 of Pokemon (Red and Blue). It's easily one of the most iconic attacks in the series, but due to getting nerfed in generation 2 (Gold and Silver), it's not used all that often competitively. But Hyper Beam flipped from a physical move to a special one in generation 4 (Diamond and Pearl), and a new move was created to take its place.
