We discuss the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on his company and the entire logistics industry. He explains why, despite hard work and great responsibility, he can only pay minimal wages and why it's financially impossible for him to offer higher salaries.
We also take a look at the current rates on freight exchanges and analyze in detail how the revenue per kilometer driven is calculated at €1. After deducting all costs such as diesel, tolls, insurance, repairs, and other operating expenses, only a small profit remains.
This conversation gives us deep insights into the reality of a freight forwarder and highlights the challenges many in this industry face.
