The Majlis Lamu
About two months ago, we set off to one of the most sought after and Exotic World destinations, LAMU. Or better known as Exotic Lamu.
Known for the historic spice trade in pre-colonial and colonial times, Lamu has a strong base in Eastern African History.

The song "Lamu"[29] by Christian singer Michael W. Smith ( • Michael W Smith 1986 - The Big Picture - ... ) is inspired by the island. In the song, Smith refers to Lamu as "an island hideaway...the place we soon will be a rebirth from life's demise...where the world is still". The song is about running away from life's problems, but even when you run away they are still there.
Lamu is the setting of Anthony Doerr's ( http://www.anthonydoerr.com/ ) short story "The Shell Collector" ( http://www.anthonydoerr.com/books/the... ) from his collection of stories by the same name.
