From Thailand, Benz planned to travel by personal motorcycle across Asia to Europe. It was a long journey that would take nearly four months. The first leg of the journey would inevitably involve passing through Laos to enter mainland China, a country where guides are legally required to legally enter the country. The journey then continued on to Mongolia.
