Game Boy Light Repair tips (No sound, power, buttons working)
Sorry in advance if I ramble on a little in this video. To be 100% accurate what I did to fix the game boy light to get it actually powering on, is replacing the battery connectors from a donor gameboy color, since pockets use AAA's, and once I had it powered on I had no sound from the speaker only the headphone jack. So then I soldered a wire from the positive side of the new 100uf 16V capacitor to the positive side of the speaker and it worked like a charm. THEN the start button wasn't working, so I had to literally use tiny bits of wire and solder from little trace holes on the board to the actual gold plate contact pads and rewire almost 90% of the traces near it... It was NOT a fun job, but it was definitely well worth it. This is by no means a how to, just felt I could share some of my experiences and see if it might help a couple people out there.
