A video demonstrating a technique for arm knitting developed by the late Marta Cantos produced by her daughter - designer - Patricia Cantos.
About 10 years ago my mother developed this method of knitting while trying to find a way to make bigger knitting stitches.
It worked perfectly with her Slubby yarn range, which she personally hand dyed. During the 8 years she ran her Melbourne yarn shop - Marta's Yarns - mum and I taught hundreds of eager customers how to arm knit.
Many had never even knitted before and many left the shop with a completed scarf! Since then, many customers have asked for a video demonstrating this unique technique. Whilst Yarn Magazine published instructions in their March 2009 issue there is nothing quite like seeing something in action.
So, here we go. Let's arm knit the way Marta did and remember her passion, creativity and generosity
