In this tutorial I go over how you can successfully create a dope hip hop sample and instrumental for rappers similar to Jadakiss and Benny the Butcher. I also touch on how to arrange and layer instruments to make your beats more interesting. Studying songs is a great way to achieve the original boom bap style in your beats similar to what rap groups like The Lox and Griselda might rap over. I think anyone from Busta Rhymes to Griselda or The Lox would bar up on this hard boom bap type beat instrumental.
Although this beat was created in Ableton Live 11 you can use the same methods and ideas in any DAW. Including Maschine, Akai MPC, Logic, Pro Tools, FL Studio and literally any other program you can think of. Hip Hop is Hip Hop no matter how it is created!
