BSides NoVA 2020 - 1500 - Democratized Intelligence: Promises and Pitfalls
The advancement of technology and the information environment of the 21st century have lead to considerable growth and lowering of barriers in what amounts to a privatized intelligence capacity – but as we press into the second decade of the millennium, we can see that these opportunities are also trickling down beyond even large corporations to average citizens. With a relatively low expenditure of time, energy, and resources, an individual (or a small group) can stand up a passably functional intelligence apparatus to serve their own private needs. But what are the hazards of private individuals doing so, both from analytical and operational/PERSEC perspectives?
