A Welsh Terrier will be used to demonstrate how the bathe/dry and groom a wire coat. The wire coats have a harsh wiry outer layer and a soft undercoat. For proper grooming they should be hand stripped. Hand stripping requires the outer coat to be plucked to stimulate new growth of a harsh texture. For pet grooming purposes these breeds are clipped instead. Jodi will demonstrate clipping and carding techniques which will help somewhat stimulate new growth giving the appearance of a hand stripped trim
