In computer programming, a statement is a single line of code that performs a specific task. For example, the following line of programming code from the Perl programming language is an example of a statement. Part#4

A statement is a command that the programmer gives to the computer. For example: print "Hello, world!" This command has a verb (“print”) and other details (what to print).
