We had a question from a subscriber about the needle Isabella uses when hand sewing the lampshades. In general upholstery needles are a half-moon shape but these can be hard to hold on to while sewing onto the metal frame.
After about 10years working on Couture Curtains in her own workshop, Isabella found that the needles she used for sewing the bottom of the interlined pleats would often bend as the work progressed. The bend was not welcome at first but she soon discovered that it gave more grip on the needle as it pushed through the many layers of fabric. The bend proved so useful that if a bent needle could not be found she bend one on purpose as in this quick video tutorial.
