Motorcycle to the Solbergfoss hydroelectric power plant 11.08.2023.
Norway has in recent days experienced heavy rain and
flooding, which has caused a partial dam burst and the
cutting of some power lines using explosives. As a result,
over 3,600 people have been evacuated from their homes.
According to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute,
this is the heaviest rainfall in over 100 years in eastern
Norway. Although there was a similar event in 1938,
where some areas received slightly more rainfall.
I will drive down with my new windshield
to the Solbergfoss hydroelectric power plant
and look at the situation.
The Solbergfoss hydroelectric power plant
on the river Glomma has been in operation sence 1924.
Some of the original turbines and generators are
still in operation.
(If it's not broken don't fix it.)
