kalpana chawla india's first woman astronaut . Chawla was born on March 17, 1962, in Karnal, now we are calling that place Haryana. she is finished Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College.
After her higher studies that she is go to United States in 1982 for the purpose of do his Master course of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984.
she also studied second master degree in 1986 and a PhD in aerospace engineering in 1988 from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Then she began work at NASA Ames Research Center in 1989.then get chance to go to the space on November 19, 1997 with six-astronaut in Space Shuttle Columbia flight STS-87.
the second mission total time is 372 hours (15 Days and 12 Hours) in space.after that the mission is completed successfully. then they are return to the earth.
After complete the first mission kalpana chawla get another chance to go to space on January 16, 2003 in Space Shuttle Columbia STS-107. the team members after finishing his mission they return to the earth. while enter the earth thus the space Shuttle is destroyed.
