CrowdStrike delivers security content configuration updates to sensors via two methods: Sensor Content, which is shipped with the sensor and not dynamically updated, and Rapid Response Content, which is designed to quickly address the evolving threat landscape. The issue on July 19, 2024, was caused by a Rapid Response Content update that included an undetected error, leading to a Windows operating system crash.
