My son is a big fan of some of same games and toys everyone else's kid is, except he knows dad has the means to make just about anything. He asked me to show him how he could make something he saw so I decided to take out the gloves and keep it simple. I made it more fun for me by making it a challenge with a time limit- under 5 hours. Challenge accepted and won.
Most people have access to Windows 10 3D Builder, and its free. It's also what I introduced him to 3D modeling with but there are alternatives like Tinkercad, Fusion 360, and more. A simple Google search will keep you busy, or you can check out a list here: https://3d-nexus.com/the-cool-stuff/3...
ZBrush has a Trial and Core Version here:https://pixologic.com/zbrush/trial/
You can also use Blender for Texturing and modeling. Both it and ZBrush have learning curves yet multiple sources for tutorials and help.
We use many brands of printers at our studio, but in 2019 a new brand came into the neighborhood and is setting standards- Artillery 3D with their Sidewinder X1 and Genius 3D Printers. Come visit on Facebook and say hello!
