Growing Sunflowers in a Dollar Tree Pot - Beginner gardening Grey Stripe Mammoth Sunflower
Hello everyone! Today I'm getting ready to plant some sunflowers in the cutest little pot from Family Dollar. I know it's not the fanciest pot in the world, but it's perfect for my DIY gardening project. Now, before I put any dirt in the pot, I'm adding some rocks to the bottom. This is going to help with drainage and make sure everything stays nice and dry.
Next, I'm adding a few amendments to the pot - like bud & bloom, and worm castings. I chose them because they'll help keep the soil light and airy, while at the same time providing essential nutrients for the sunflowers. It's important to get the soil just right so that your plants can thrive!
Now it's time to fill the pot with soil. I'm using a special blend that I found at my local plant store. It's got a mix of organic ingredients and will help give my sunflower plants access to the nutrients they need. Once I've filled the pot, I'm just going to break it up a bit with my hands, so that the soil is nice and fluffy.
Finally, it's time to plant my sunflowers! I make sure to add a healthy dose of water to each hole before I put each plant in, and then use some of the soil I just mixed up to cover them up. Now all I have to do is wait for the sunflowers to start growing!
