Tekirdağ
Tekirdağ ili, Türkiye'nin kuzeybatısında bulunan bir ildir. İlin merkezi ise Tekirdağ şehridir. 2012 yılında nüfusu 750.000'i geçen 14 adet il TBMM'de kabul edilen kanun ile büyükşehir statüsü kazandığı için Türkiye'nin 30 büyükşehrinden biridir. 30 Mart 2014'te yapılan yerel seçimlerin ardından resmen büyükşehir belediyeciliği ile yönetilmeye başlamıştır, hizmet sahası 6.190 km² olarak tüm il sınırlarıdır. Bu kanunla üç yeni ilçe kurulmuştur. Bunlar, Süleymanpaşa, Kapaklı ve Ergene'dir.
Tekirdağ province is a province located in northwestern Turkey. The center of the province is Tekirdağ city. It is one of the 30 metropolitan cities of Turkey, as 14 provinces with a population exceeding 750,000 gained metropolitan status with the law passed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 2012. After the local elections held on March 30, 2014, it officially started to be governed as a metropolitan municipality, and its service area is 6,190 km², including all provincial borders. With this law, three new districts were established. These are Süleymanpaşa, Kapaklı and Ergene.
