As I celebrate another year of life, certain parts of my journey keep coming to mind. My childhood was far from happy. In many Chinese families, boys are often favored over girls, and I experienced abuse, fear, and silence.
I remember one of the chats I had with God , I questioned Him: “Why Texas? As I was cast away there from Taiwan. Was there another way?” I remember sensing Father God's response: “I understood your pain, and sending you away was My way of protecting you.”
Looking back, my childhood was incredibly difficult. The journey of healing dealing with trauma and abuse was a lot of work. But through His mercy, God rescued and restored me, and He gave me purpose.
