You could arguably say the us was not reluctant but took more time to enter the space war or the space force warfare arena in part because of uh an ethical or humanitarian thought that space was a sanctuary that it wasn't intended to be militarized well the next thing they knew both Russia and China were rapidly militarizing space so now the pentagon has a u.s space force.
