If you are like me and want to get involved in desktop application development and want to build a tiny, blazingly fast application using your favorite front-end framework, then Tauri could be the answer. The other potential solution is Electron, but according to these numbers, Tauri performs better than Electron. What is Tauri? Well, it’s a toolkit for building desktop applications. In which we can use any front-end framework that compiles to HTML, JS, and CSS to build the front-end. On the other hand, the backend is based on a rust-sourced binary. Also, the front-end can interact with the backend with an API.

Tauri is cross-platform, and it supports development and distribution on Windows (7 and above), Linux (link), and macOS (10.15 and above). In this post, we will use React as the front-end framework to create a desktop application.
