Hey everyone,

Let's tackle an interview question from a Texas Instruments exam, with credit to the question designer. This question revolves around the maximum power transfer theorem, but with a slight twist. Usually, for maximum power transfer from a source to a load involving resistive impedance, the source impedance ideally needs to be 0 ohms. However, in this scenario, the load impedance is reactive.

So, what we're aiming for is to find the equation for Vout and intuitively explore the output power for different cases of Zs (source impedance). Essentially, when the reactance of the source (Xs) equals the negative of the reactance of the load (Xload), we achieve maximum power delivery to the load. In general, in circuits with reactive source and load impedances, maximum power is delivered to the load when the source impedance is the complex conjugate of the load impedance.
