Na een intense tournee, de vele ontroerende reacties en het blijvende spoor dat La Dame En Noir naliet bij publiek en performers, ontstond de wens om dit werk niet volledig los te laten. Niet als nieuwe tour, maar als een ontmoeting. Een terugkeer. Een reünie. Een jaarlijks ritueel.
Een uitzonderlijke herneming die uitsluitend te beleven is op één locatie in Nederland en één locatie in België.

A characterful, powerful total spectacle with live percussion 'the heartbeat of the earth'
Dance, spoken word, live drums, visuals and scenographic design merge into a resonant experience, taking you on a deep mystical journey back to our essential roots and nature.
Isabelle Beernaert notes that in all her creations since the beginning of her dance career, a mysterious female archetypal character appears on the scene, dressed in black. This made her realize that there was always something essential there that she was exploring more deeply 'The Dark Mother'.
The ancient form of the Dark Mother is currently returning to our consciousness worldwide. With this she heralds the end of an era, which at the same time symbolizes a new beginning. It is a period of spiritual evolution in which people become more aware of the energetic connection with Mother Earth.
The Dark Mother represents the deep, dark womb of cosmic beginnings, where dark and light flow together in harmony, on both a collective and individual level.
When 2021 arrived,
Isabelle Beernaert discovered a surprising new chapter in her family history that put her origins in a new light.
It turned out that she has 'Iberian' (Spanish and Portuguese) and North African blood running through her veins, making her DNA a rich mix of different cultures and heritage in addition to her French and Belgian roots.
This discovery sheds a whole new light on her ancestral heritage, especially on her mother's side. It also explained why throughout her life she had always felt a deep and inexplicable connection to a diversity of ethnic cultures.
She has embraced this revelation and incorporated it into her new creation,
'LA DAME EN NOIR', 'The Dark Mother'.
Her grandmother's secret.
It is therefore also an ode to the mysteries of family histories and cultural connections, and a celebration of the beautiful diversity of human identity that goes all the way back to our tribal origins.
All colors are present in black. The black absorbs. Black is the color of the peace, quiet and darkness necessary for a seed to germinate. A child in the womb is in the dark. Before spring comes, there is winter.
Black is pregnant with light.
