5 ways to hide your SECRET BASE in Minecraft
In this video Kevbotomy reviews five different ways you can hide your secret base in Minecraft.

And today, I'm going to show you how to hide your own base using those 5 tricks!
Let's get started!
#1: Lava Door Difficulty: Easy
I'll be covering these methods in order from easiest to hardest, and the first method is as easy as it gets. If you've been playing Minecraft for a while, you've probably seen this first one, but it's a classic that, in my opinion, will always hold up as a great way to hide your base.
All you need is some lava, and then there are a number of ways you can make your way through it. The simplest option is probably ender pearls, but you can also get through by mounting a boat or minecart, or drinking a fire resist potion and jumping right in!
There are lots of opportunities to disguise a door with lava; any kind of nether themed area or naturally occuring lava lake is a good candidate for a secret entrance.
#2 Shulker Box Trick Difficulty: Easy
This next one is also a simple favorite of mine, and it can fit into just about any base. In case you haven't seen it before, this is the shulker box trick.
All you have to do is stand on a shulker box and open it while there is a block above your head. The block will push the player into the shulker box, allowing you to pass right through it into the tunnels below.
Now we've got the easiest stuff out of the way, let's move on to something a little more advanced.
#3 Leather Frost Walker Boots Difficulty: Medium
Frost walker is one of the most underappreciated enchantments in the game, which makes it perfect for opening a secret entrance.
For those who don't know, frost walker lets the player walk across water by temporarily freezing nearby water source blocks. The short range allows for the water source blocks to be hidden behind walls and other obstacles, making it a cool option for remotely activating a redstone entrance.
This can be taken a step further using leather boots and powder snow. By sinking into the first layer of snow, i can use the boots to walk across the layer underneath. Only by walking across this specific patch of powdered snow will I be able to freeze the water source, opening the entrance. If I don't wear leather boots, I sink into the snow and can't open the door, as you can see here.
#4 Comparator BUD Difficulty: Medium
Now we get on to the fourth hidden entrance, and I'm going to give you a quick moment to see if you can spot it. Go on, it's right there behind me.
If you saw it, congratulations, and if not, don't worry too much, because it's supposed to be hidden. But let's explain what's going on here.
This is a comparator BUD, or block update detector. People mostly stopped using these when observers came out, but they have some useful properties for making secret entrances. Like an observer, it will detect block state changes in the spaces beside it. However, some redstone components can also update the comparator from 1 block away, allowing it to be completely hidden from view.
In this case, I used a single tripwire hook and some string to update the comparator, opening the door. I should note that this is particular method is directional, so you have to play around with the orientation of the components if it doesn't work the first time.
This is one of the most versatile ways to hide a secret base, as there are so many different blocks that can be used to update the comparator that your options are prectically limitless.
#5 Wireless Redstone/Enderporter Difficulty: Hard
As you can see behind me, there is some redstone running. This is already a perfect location for a hidden entrance, as touching other people's redstone is a cardinal sin and those who perpetrate such heinous acts should burn in the fiery pits of hell for a thousand eternities; however, that's not why we're here. If i put some items in these droppers, then enable the redstone signal to pass through, we should see me teleport right into my secret base, no entrance needed.
The best part about this method is that it can be done anywhere in the overworld. As long as the reciever stays loaded, say, with a chunk loader, I can build a transmitter anywhere to teleport myself home.
Now, this is definitely the most complex system I showed today, and explaining exactly how it works is beyond the scope of this video.
