Two little words set big things in motion.
What If?
In the 1990s Jarle Sky saw the internet explode in growth but, he saw something more and he asked : what if?
When Jarle moved to the U.S. IN ’96, then he saw internet coming. And then Jarle, Lennart and me were in a team, trying to find out how we could develop Aggreso, the old system, into the internet world.
What if companies could access powerful business management tools from anywhere using the web?
He took the idea to his company but the board members didn’t get it.
He refused to let that disappointment stop him. Instead, he asked," what if?”
I saw this as an opportunity to lower the cost and to help businesses be more successful, so they could focus on their business rather than having all these unnecessary expenses implementing ERP or running ERP software systems.
And in 2000, he started a new company : Xledger. Jarle teamed up with former colleagues Lennart Holen and May Helen Kvarberg. Together, they spent the next six years of their life designing, coding and testing something revolutionary. An Accounting system that was entirely cloud-based. They worked with no income, driven by two words.
We have an extreme deep passion of product development. Solving customer problems, giving them solutions. So, we have never started a company where the goal has been how can we make money? How can we build a company that is worth a lot of money? That has never been in our goals. And in 2006, they unveiled the Xledger solution. Unlike other applications that added on cloud-based features, Xledger was cloud-based from the very beginning.
T gave companies the world’s most advances business management tools. No hardware, no license. Just one subscription fee.
The aim of our business was to help and give or business customers insight into their business, and automate their processes, and now having us a scalable solution that works for very small entities and subsidiaries or for bigger offices.
So, it’s like an invisible hand running behind the scene, running the business for them, helping them run it without them physically involved n all the intricate processes.
From day one, Xledger was more automated, insightful and scalable than anything else on the market. It soon won some of the world’s most prestigious brands; and tens of thousands of customers later, it’s still growing all over the globe.
