A very special orphanage in Ethiopia: Omo’s Morningstar Children
Omo’s Morningstar Children
This is a video that I made last year, highlighting a girls orphanage in the center of Omo Valley Ethiopia. I was introduced to the orphanage during my last visit and have become personally invested in it for several reasons, one being that they now house two little street girls that I met about 3 years ago… these girls now have a stable home and “family”.
This orphanage was founded by a man named Ayko, who is from the Karo tribe. He and his wife have worked hard to provide a home and education to 49 girls, who come from one of the surrounding tribes, and have lost a parent.
I put together this video in hopes that it will bring some support to this special place. I didn’t want to post it until I knew that I would be returning to Ethiopia (I’m here now!), and could bring them some supplies. I set up a gofundme page .
