One Dead And Two Injured In Paris “Terrorist” Attack
One man has died and two others have been injured, including a British man, in a knife and hammer attack in central Paris.
The man that was killed was a German tourist.
The incident occurred near the Eiffel Tower last night, at around 9pm local time (8pm GMT).
French President Macron has named it a “terrorist” attack, and anti-terrorism prosecutors are investigating the case.
A 26-year old French citizen with a history of terrorist involvement has been arrested, having been on an intelligence agency watchlist.
The Times' Paris Correspondent, Adam Sage, tells TalkTV’s Peter Cardwell that the attacker had allegedly released a video explaining his motive due to anger over “the deaths of Muslims in other countries.”
