Over the years the industry has commercialized BIIM commercially towards architectural professionals, but the real purpose and benefits of BIM relate to all construction industry professionals. The 3D presentation of the building and now also used in roads and utilities and it is directed towards all construction professionals, and you are responsible for understanding the whole process and participating in providing input to the software.
BIM provides a reliable digital representation of the building available for design decision making, production of high-quality construction documents, construction planning, performance forecasting, and cost estimation. It can also be used by property owners once the construction process is complete, to carefully monitor how the building is being executed and how repairs are to be completed.
The building data modeling process covers geometry, space, lighting, geographic information, quantity, and building material properties. The BIM can be used to demonstrate the entire building life cycle, including the construction and facility operation process.
