Venom: The Last Dance is an upcoming American superhero film starring the Marvel Comics character Venom. The film is produced by Columbia Pictures. The film is distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It is the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man universe and the sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let the Carnage Come (2021). The film is written and directed (in his first experience) by Kelly Marcel. He co-wrote the story with Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock and Venom.
Hardy announced in August 2018 that he had signed on to star in the third Venom film, and development on the film began in December 2021, after the release of the second film. Marcel and Hardy were writing the script by June 2022, with Marcel set to direct the film in October of that year. The rest of the cast joined in mid-2023, and filming began in late June 2023 in Spain, but was halted the following month due to the 2023 Dog-Slander Strikes. Filming resumed in November of that year after the strike ended, and was nearly complete by early 2024, with the film's title announced.
Venom: The Last Dance is scheduled for release in the United States on October 25, 2024.

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom: An investigative journalist who hosts an alien symbiote, imbuing him with superhuman abilities and a violent secondary personality: Venom.[2]
In addition, Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor have been cast in undisclosed roles;[3] Temple's role has been described as a main character.[4] Clarke Bacow has been cast in an undisclosed role.[5]

Development
Tom Hardy announced in August 2018 that he had signed on to star in three Venom films.[2] In September 2021, Hardy noted that the filmmakers should continue to develop Sony's Spider-Man universe.[6] Andy Serkis, the director of Venom: Let the Carnage Come (2021), has expressed interest in directing another Venom film,[7] believing that there was more to do with Venom before the character meets Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are future films.[8][7] In October, Tom Holland said that he and producer Amy Pascal had discussed the possibility of him reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Venom sequels, following his brief appearance in Let Carnage Come.[9] In December of that year, Pascal said that they were in the "planning stages" of Venom 3.[10]
During the 2022 CinemaCon, Sony Pictures confirmed that the film was in development.[11] In June, Hardy announced that Kelly Marcel, who had worked on the previous Venom films, was writing the screenplay, and that he would be collaborating with Marcel.[12] In October of that year, Marcel was set to make his directorial debut with the film, producing alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Pascal, Hutch Parker, and Hardy.[13] Columbia Pictures was also set to produce the film.[14] Expectations This film was to complete the Venom trilogy.[13] Serkis said that he was unable to return due to commitments to Animal Farm, which were delayed due to work on Let Carnage Come.[15]
