Paxos Explained
In this video, we study the famous Paxos protocol. The Paxos protocol addresses the challenge of maintaining consistent state across servers in a distributed system without relying on locks, which can fail if nodes become unresponsive. Instead, Paxos uses a ticketing system where servers issue numbered tickets to clients, allowing commands to be stored and executed in a coordinated manner.
