Marinette wants to go to prom with Adrien, with that teased dress and all. But then finds out that he’s going with Kagami.
Soooo, Felix is just a placeholder date since Mari still wanted to go to prom.
Felix’s intentions are mostly good except for the fact that he works with Lila. (and the big attack she’s planning is on the day of the prom.)
After Mari finds out that Adrien is with Kagami her main goal now is to try and defeat Lilac :) (Lilac//Farfalla is HM! Lila btw)
So yeah, Mari and Felix are just going as friends, there’s a bigger picture behind it all.
