This video is part of a basic series for learning how to use Unity 3D and explore all its tools. All the Unity videos will be added to the following playlist:

In this video, we'll see how to configure the engine to export to Android mobile devices, that is, how to create an APK version of the project that can be installed on Android devices (supporting applications from unknown sources).

First, you need the Android module. This can be installed from Unity Hub; it consists of three packages: Android Build Support, Android JDK, and Android SDK and NDK.

Once the Android tools are installed, go to Unity, then Edit Preferences External Tools, and make sure the JDK, SDK, and NDK boxes are checked.

Next, we need to change the target platform. This is done by going to File Build Settings, selecting the Android option, and clicking the "Switch Platform" button. This will cause Unity to make the necessary adjustments for exporting to Android.

Once this is done, we can click "Build," choose a destination folder, name the file, and save it. This will cause Unity to begin compiling for Android. Once the process is complete, we have an APK file that can be copied to an Android device and installed.
