Liam Fornadel, a standout offensive lineman from James Madison University, has quickly made a name for himself through his impressive performance in the XFL and UFL. After going undrafted in 2022, Fornadel refined his skills and showcased his talent with the D.C. Defenders, earning All-XFL honors in 2023. His consistent improvement and high-level play in 2024 attracted the attention of several NFL teams, ultimately leading to his signing with the New England Patriots in June 2024. Known for his powerful run blocking and solid pass protection, Fornadel aims to bring his versatile skill set to the Patriots' offensive line, something that is in dire need.
Liam is the perfect build for a guard at just over 6’4” with a long torso with a strong core, a solid lower body with a nasty anchor for bull rushers, a strong upper body, quick feet, clean footwork… and most of all… a true bulldog playing style. Once he latches on, you’re done… and you are going to have to pray for the whistle.
I believe Liam is a great pick-up for the Patriots and I think he has a legitimate shot at making the 53-man roster considering question marks around Cole Strange’s return, where Big Mike will play, if second-year Jake Andrews is healthy. If Sow is ready to claim that starting spot and if so… where? If Layden Robinson can play at the NFL level… Does Mafi fit into the new scheme? Lots of questions at the guard position despite the team carrying a boatload of interior offensive linemen, so Liam might have an opportunity to step right in considering his experience and playstyle.
