How To Stop Auto Download in WhatsApp
To stop WhatsApp from automatically downloading media, you can do the following:
Open WhatsApp
Tap the three-dot menu
Select Settings
Select Storage and data
In the Media auto-download section, tap each option:
When using mobile data
When connected on Wi-Fi
When roaming
Uncheck all the boxes
Click on OK
