To create a spotlight effect on text in Adobe Premiere Pro, you can follow these steps:
Create a New Sequence: Open Premiere Pro and create a new project. Import your footage and drag it into the timeline to create a sequence.
Add Text: Go to the "Graphics" workspace. Click on the "Type Tool" in the toolbar and then click anywhere on the Program Monitor to create a text box. Type in your desired text.
Format Text: With the text selected, you can adjust the font, size, color, and other attributes using the Essential Graphics panel.
Create a Mask: Select the text layer in the timeline. Go to the "Effect Controls" panel. Under "Opacity," click the pen tool to create a mask around the text. Make sure to close the mask to complete the shape.
