Description:
The observations in all density bottles, pycnometers and flasks are the same.
The empty weight of pycnometer 𝒘 _(𝟏 ).
Oven dry sample of soil + pycnometer 𝒘_(𝟐 ).
The empty volume of the pycnometer is filled with water in multiple stages, simultaneously removing air present in the soil either by constant stirring or by using a vacuum at the top of the pycnometer.
The pycnometer is again weighed after filling the empty volume with water 𝒘_(𝟑 ).
The pycnometer is emptied and again filled with water after cleaning properly 𝒘_(𝟒 ).
