Lots of Secretaries of State and voter boards will purge voters prior to an election. Sometimes on a partisan basis but sometimes just by accident - if your name is similar to a person who died, or if you didn't vote in the last election because, well, you didn't like the candidates. (You're not alone there!) There are even some states that empower other citizens to just remove you. Yeah, in America we make some really dumb laws sometimes.
You can check your voter registration anytime. Or multiple times! You can be removed anytime up to Election Day - but if it happens now, when it's closer than 90 days, they MUST let you vote with a provisional ballot; that way if it's close, they'll go research what happened with provisional ballot voters and count those.
One more note: whether you vote is public information. But WHO you vote for is NOT. No one will find out if you don't tell them, and you have a right to vote privately without anyone watching you fill out a mail-in ballot.
