Here are the rules of Rummy explained in easy language:
Goal: The aim of Rummy is to get rid of all your cards by forming sets and sequences.
Cards: You need a deck of 52 cards, and Jokers can be used as wild cards.
Number of Players: Rummy can be played with 2 to 6 players.
Getting Cards: Each player is dealt 13 cards at the beginning.
Making Sets and Sequences: To play, you need to make sets (cards of the same rank) and sequences (cards in consecutive order of the same suit). You can also use Jokers to complete sets or sequences.
Drawing and Discarding: On your turn, you either pick a card from the closed deck (face-down) or the open deck (face-up). After picking a card, you have to discard one card from your hand.
Using Jokers: Jokers can substitute any card to complete a set or sequence, but you can't use them to create a sequence without a Joker.
Organizing and Showing: As you collect suitable cards, arrange them in your hand and put completed sets and sequences on the table.
Declaring Rummy: When you have no more cards left in your hand and all your cards are in sets and sequences, you can declare "Rummy" to show that you have won the game.
Scoring: At the end of each round, count the points of the cards that you couldn't use in sets or sequences. Face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are worth 10 points, numbered cards have their face value, and Jokers have zero points. The player with the least points wins the round.
Continuing the Game: You can play multiple rounds until someone reaches a specific score or a set number of rounds is completed. The player with the lowest score overall is the winner.
