Historic tunnelling breakthrough for HS2
‘Dorothy’ becomes first Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) on the High-Speed 2 (HS2) project to complete its full journey underground, with the first bore of a 1.6km tunnel under Long Itchington Wood, Warwickshire dug in seven months.
