First Time Tandem Skydiving 18000 Ft - Sept 29 2024
Everybody else in the plane jumped at 13,000 ft. I, along with with my tandem guide and the videographer, were the last ones left as we went up to 18,000 ft. Oxygen was required in the plane for that elevation. I was also the only one who wore a jumpsuit because it was cold that high.
In freefall, the videographer grabbed my hand and we did spins. Under the canopy, I got to take the control straps and we did fast parachute spins. I screamed the whole way down but it was from exhilaration, not fear. The scariest part was jumping out of the plane but that feeling lasted only a couple of seconds. The entire experience was much less terrifying that I was expecting, and the high lasted all day.
