Some of the famous names are: Kolkata (Calcutta), Mumbai (Bombay), Chennai (Madras), Lucknow, Varanasi (Benares), Patna, Delhi, Agra, Allahabad, Bangalore, Amritsar, Kanpur (Cawnpore), Pune (Poona), Ahmedabad, Surat, Bareilly, Lahore, Rangoon, Karachi, Hyderabad, Mandalay, Jaipur and Howrah.
