In this video I’ll show you how to make a delicious apple whiskey. I brewed Graf in a previous video and wondered how it would taste as a whiskey. GRAF is a fictional beer/apple cider hybrid from the Stephen King series, The Dark Tower. I also get to test out some new aging barrels😊

6.5 gallons(25L) water
5 gallons(19L) Apple Juice – no preservative, but Vitamin C is just fine.

Optional – Use Commercial Enzymes to aid in gelatinizing and converting the starch in the corn.

Gelatinize your corn at 190F(88C) for 1 hour, then mash the malt and corn together in 6.5 gallons (25L) of water at 155F(68.3C) for at least 90 minutes. You can then strain out grain, or let the brew ferment on the grain. Add the wort to the fermenter and top up with 5 gallons (19L) of juice and 5 pounds (2.26Kg)of chopped apples. Check gravity. Ferment with DADY or an ale yeast until you get a hydrometer reading of 1.000 or lower.
Hypothetically speaking, if you were to distill this, it would be best in a pot still with the grain and apple packed into a thumper to maximize flavor.
