Can Two Batteries be Wired in Parallel in a Chinese Clone Longboard without Modifying the Case?

I've received a couple of questions about fitting two batteries inside the case of a Chinese clone electric skateboard. Because I'm in the unusual position of having two batteries I thought I should at least see if this is viable...
