Italy seize cocaine worth $871 million hidden in banana shipment
Police in Italy have seized 2.7 tonnes of "extremely pure cocaine" hidden in two refrigerated containers containing bananas that had been shipped from Ecuador. The containers were bound for Armenia and were due to go by the Georgian city of Batumi. According to the police, the estimated cost of the seized cocaine is more than €800 million (over $871 million).
