Venus Aerospace Achieves First Ignition of VDR2 Engine
We’ve successfully ignited our VDR2 engine, marking the first Rocket-Based Combined Cycle test and enabling a single engine solution from Mach 0 to Mach 6. Developed in collaboration with Velontra, this groundbreaking engine combines RDRE thrust with Ramjet efficiency, achieving the first-ever Ramjet start at takeoff speed.
Next up: Ground tests of VDR2 Block 0, the simplest engine to reach Mach 4+, with flight trials set for 2025.
