India Terror Attacks Israel - Rabbi Holtzberg Chabad Jerusalem Funeral
Born in Israel, Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg, 29, moved to the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York with his parents when he was nine. His wife Rivka, 28, was a native of Afula, Israel. The Holtzbergs arrived in Mumbai, India in 2003 to serve the local Jewish community. The two ran a synagogue, offering religious instruction and helping people dealing with drug addiction and poverty. They were murdered during a hostage standoff at the center by Islamic terrorists.
The couple's toddler son, Moshe Holtzberg, was rescued by an employee and is now with his grandparents in Israel. Moshe, who witnessed his parents murder, still cries out for emma (mommy) and abba (daddy).
This is the funeral of Rabbi Gavriel and his 6 month pregnant wife Rivka in Jerusalem, Israel on December 2, 2008. Thousand attended the funeral which was broadcast throughout the world.
This couple wasn't living in the West Bank. They weren't settlers. They weren't occupying anyone's land. They were killed because they were Jews!
