Lab 7 Vector Data Analysis in
Objectives:
• Learn how to perform fundamental spatial analysis for vector data.
Data:
• Download population data at the state level and the county level from ArcGIS Pro living atlas.
• Download mass shooting 2019 (author by weixx) points from ArcGIS Pro All portals.
Steps:
1. Export the downloaded data to your project geodatabase.
2. Perform spatial analysis to answer the following questions:
2.1. At the state level, how many people been killed or injured?
• Use Spatial Join to answer this question.
• Use Summarize Within to answer this question.
• Compare the results from the above analysis.
2.2. At the county level, for each incident, what is the average population with 50 km?
• Use Buffer, Intersect, and Summarize to answer this question.
• Use Summarize Nearby to answer this question.
• Use Enrich to answer this question.
