Bloodbath 100% (MY HARDEST EXTREME DEMON YET)
DISCLAIMER: I know that the spike at the end of Gboy's ball is there still even though it was taken out in the 2020 Update. But I completely didn't know this until I beat it and since I'm pretty sure this nerf was the only update, I will still consider this legitimate.
I've always looked up to Bloodbath since I first ever played this game on PC about three years ago. Ever since then, I've watched many people beat this level and I've dreamed of also one day doing it. After a few years I got into the game and would play this level for fun and then around February 2024 I would try and get to Michigun, which I did end up doing after 2,000 attempts, which goes to show I was definitely not ready for Bloodbath yet. After I got 30%, I thought that was as far as I could go so I didn't touch the level at all for a month and would play 42 - 100 occasionally with either Acu or a different demon being my main focus. Then I'd get 40% in April and try and get to Crack's Ship, but kept on getting mindblocked my Michigun numerous times, which would stay a huge problem until the last month before I beat it. I'd then get 74% in May and would not get back there for 4 MONTHS no matter how hard I'd try, with my nerves mainly being the problem once I got past Michigun. Then In September I'd finally get past my mindblock and get 79% and a week later I'd get 80%. After this, I took a huge break from the level due to school, demotivation from the level, and also my main keyboard breaking. On the day I completed this, I decided I just wanted to do a few quick 42 - 100 and 25 - 100 runs, play from 0, and then see what happens and shortly in the session I got 83%, 10 minutes later I got 83% again. After this, I knew I had the consistency to complete this and I did after an INSANE 395 days.
As for my next new hardest, I personally don't know what I'll do. This level has always been on my mind as a bucket list demon and quitting before I'd complete it felt wrong. So I set for it to at least be one of my hardest demons I'd beat. But now that it's complete, I really don't have many goals left in the game except for maybe completing an RGB level or a list level. But I guess I'll see what the future has in store for me.
Now with the level, I personally think this should NEVER be a first extreme demon unless you really wanted to test your limits. Although I did get lucky with the last 20% I still was tired of playing this level and gambling if I can pass Michigun or not. Additionally, the ship gameplay in this level is diabolical and there's numerous choke points that I could go on and on about. The level can also become boring because of the chokepoints and it's what halted my progress for many many months. But despite this, the level still is insanely legendary and I do think that if you want to beat extremes, this is one that you should beat.
