For whom: Chinese-learning beginners; HSK 1 & HSK 2 students; Anyone who is interested in Chinese characters and radicals
Chinese radicals are the building blocks of Chinese characters and hold important information on a character's meaning or pronunciation. By mastering the most common Chinese radicals, you'll learn Chinese characters faster and easier. This particular video is exceptionally helpful because many of the radicals that are featured appear in sets that look quite alike but are associated with different meanings. This can be confusing for beginners who are learning Chinese, such as the radical that pertains to "Time" versus the one that pertains to "the eyes"; the radical that relates to "a person" versus the one that relates to "the act of walking"; the radical that relates to "the actions or movements of a person" versus the one that relates to "a landform or location"; and the radical that associates with "houses" versus the one that associates with "holes, caves, or houses". By distinguishing between these similar radicals, learners can acquire a greater number of Chinese characters more quickly and more accurately. This video also covers some interesting radicals that are essential for beginners, such as the one related to the “human body or flesh”, the one related to “actions involving the hand”, and the one related to “grass, trees, or plants”. I hope you enjoy watching this video and look forward to seeing you soon!
