Story Time: A few weeks ago, I was helping my parents with basement renovations, and I found a box in one of their storage closets. It had some of my old stuff (like my Blue Nintendo DS lol), including a USB, which had my Ableton/Audacity mashups when I was 13-14! (I thought I lost them when my Laptop died 😍)
I spent the whole day looking through the projects (and cringing on how they were badly made or off-key 😅), and I came across this mashup, which was probably the cleanest of them all. I didn’t really change too much of the actual project, except switching in higher quality materials, and lightly using the LFN stems here and there, just like how I imagined it back then 😄
The timing of everything is really funny and weird because just a few days before I found the USB, my tiktok fyp had a video about Domino, and a lot of people genuinely thought it was a Katy Perry song, and then others said it reminds them of Last Friday Night and want to hear a mashup with it LOL. Everything seemed to kind of line up, which motivated me to work on it. Hopefully this throwback mashup scratches that "itch" for some people! 😋

🍉After-Thoughts🍉
1. I have a feeling the EQ and volumes are kind of wonky. Most of my time on this mashup has been me going back and forth between speakers and multiple headphones, and trying to "fix" things (which "fixing" one, meant unfixing the other LOL).
2. While working on the cover arts, It finally clicked to me that the album cover of Teenage Dream was a painting. (I'm confused on why 12 year old me genuinely thought it was a real photo lolol.)
3. Don't work on things when you're lacking proper sleep, it's a real life version of "hard mode" LOL.
