4th IN INDIA FOR 2x2! 1.76 (PR) and 1.87 (Winning) Official 2x2 Averages! - Noida Cube Open 2022
Hey everyone! This video is just to showcase my 2x2 solves from Noida Cube Open 2022! I'm very proud of these solves (hence the main channel upload), but I know there's definitely a lot of room for improvement, and these solves were nowhere near perfect. Nonetheless, I'm very happy to finally have a decent rank on 2x2 and prove to myself I can do well in comp! Since this is my last comp until at least June and I knew whatever I got here would be my PR for a while, I am very proud I was able to perform as well as I did, and have a respectable PR Average! Keep reading for my overall thoughts on both these averages!

My Overall Thoughts:
1.76 Average (R1): This average was really good, considering it was my first one back that actually counted! I didn't actually predict AUF on most of these solves due to lack of inspection time, so I definitely know I am capable of around a 1.5/1.6 average going forward! The 2nd solve was a no-bar in particular, and the 5th scramble was absolutely terrible, but I YOLO-ed it, spammed tps and it turned out to be a great time! Other than AUFing, not much I would've done differently here, so I'm very happy!
1.87 Average (Final): There were actually 2 groups in finals (silly idea imo): one which got an average set of scrambles, and one which got an extremely easy set. Unfortunately, I was in the average set, and despite that, I'm very happy to have still won the competition, but once again, these solves were not super great (except 4 and 5). Scramble 2 was super easy but I had a terrible lockup, and on 1 and 3, my solutions just weren't good (I missed a 2-move face on Solve 3). My friend Shubham Maharana actually got the extremely easy set, and that one actually had a 5-mover. Sadly, Shubham +2ed the 5-mover and also +2ed out of a 1.67 Winning Average. Oh well, I'm sure he'll do better next time! I really wish I had a shot at the easy set, because I got a 1.44 average first try (sub-NR) with a 0.60 single on the 5-mover (sub-AsR), but I guess the fact that I won despite getting the "not-so-good" set shows that I don't need amazing scrambles to perform well.
All in all, hoping I can improve my 1.76 further and continue to get sub-2 averages! Stay tuned for a vlog coming out sometime this month! :)
